Remembering the importance of state

This afternoon I grabbed a coffee with Greg Layton. Greg and I went to school near each other and even studied business at the same time, though it was NLP that finally led us to meet. He had spent a few months training with my good friends Chris and Jules Collingwood, taking out his Graduate Certificate in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and as he shared with me his inspiring experiences, I was reminded of the importance of state.

Sometimes we are happy; sometimes we are excited; sometimes we are not so resourceful – some of us might even be a bit grumpy from time to time. That state – our subjective emotional condition – opens and closes possibilities. It’s like a pair of sunglasses that tints the way we see the world.

And for colour blind people like me, those filters change what we can see at all.

Greg reminded me how important it is that we can get back into our core state of being.

It’s about alignment. We can be happier and more fulfilled when we deliberately design our experiences and our lives so that we can move towards that core state consistently.

An Introduction to NLP & Submodalities – Learn the architecture of your emotions

Learn the architecture of your emotions…

Andy Clark will be leading an exploration of the NLP field of Submodalities that allows us to map the structure of emotional energy. Only once we have a clear map of that emotional energy, we can ask the question “How can we use this energy to empower us?”.

The workshop will be highly interactive and require that you work with new people.

Guangzhou April Event: Exploring submodalities

Think back to a time when you last went out with your friends or family.

In your mind carefully recreate the memory.

Think back to who was with you, where were they standing or sitting? Where were you? What could you see around you? What could you hear in the background? Were other people speaking, what were they saying? Was it hot or cold? How did you feel in that moment? Would you like to recreate the feelings or emotional state from that particular moment? Would you like to make it stronger, weaker, or change it altogether?

Last month we began an exploration into the preferences we have for experiencing the world around us. This month the China NLP Society Guangzhou will look at how our sense affect our emotional states particularly the emotions connected to our memories. We will do this by taking our journey to explore the submodalities associated with our senses.

The evening includes an introduction to the sub-conscious mind. From their we will delve deeper into the sub-conscious mind and our memories. Using NLP techniques associated with our sensory preferences and their related elements we explore how we relate our senses and their submodalities to our emotional states.

We will have an opportunity for breakout sessions to begin a journey of exploring our own memories. Join us for an exciting evening of self-discovery and exploration.
