Challenging Limiting Beliefs with John Dorris

Create Personal Breakthroughs through Changing Limiting Beliefs with John Dorris

Guangzhou – 28 July – from 7pm

Take a moment to imagine what you want most to achieve in your life. Now consider what is stopping you from having that. Ask yourself, “What do I believe this is keeping me from having what I really want?”

The ideas that stop us from achieving or fulfilling the life that we want are called limiting beliefs. They may fill our lives and have many well thought out reasons to keep us from being the person that we want to become. But what if they didn’t have to?

This month, we will take some time to identify what are limiting beliefs and how they have affected us. We will go through fun and easy coaching activities to challenge those beliefs and create personal breakthroughs. These are techniques have been used to change lives and create a greater sense of personal freedom and empowerment by NLP practitioners, coaches, and motivational speakers around the world.

Topics include:

  • The Frog in the Well,
  • Self Talk, and
  • WTTTTPP.

John has been leading China NLP sessions in South China since completing his NLP Practitioner training.

NLP Fundamentals: Meta Programs with John Dorris in Guangzhou

When you think of the word “team,” what comes to mind?

We have many kinds of teams including our work teams, our families, some of us have teams we play with for fun, or work with for charities and individual passions. It seems that being a part of a “team” and collaborating with other people is a part of all of our lives. Being able to understand each other and why we are similar and different can change and improve any team environment. When we can better understand each other we can begin to create strategies and habits that can improve our happiness when we work with others, our team’s effectiveness, and hopefully the quality of our life.

Meta Programs describe the some of the ways our unconscious mind defines our thinking and actions. We will look at 8 easy to understand meta-programs that are commonly encountered and easily observed in our daily lives.

We will talk about what methods we can use to affect our own meta-programs and how we can begin to improve our relationships with the people in our lives. This is an easy way to create an understanding about why some teams work and communicate better with the teams in our lives.

John DorrisJohn Dorris, South China NLP’s organizer, has over seven years of experience working with teams across China and as a coach for high level leadership teams. In this session we will do a self-assessment and talk about how to better understand and work with the teams in our lives.

Jeff Tan in Guangzhou: Discovering Core Values and Motivators

Jeff Tan, sitting

Jeff Tan

Jeff will be discussing how to invest in yourself by discovering and understanding your core values. By discovering in your core values, you stay ahead of life’s uncertainties because you know what you want out of life, you know what motivates and pushes you forward, you know just why you’re alive!

Jeff Tan | Wednesday, 24 June, 7-9pm | @Paddy Field, Guangzhou

Core values are what’s important to you and drives your emotions, thoughts and actions every second of every day. It’s a set of personal rules, principles and fundamental truths that give us the fuel and motivation to lead a meaningful, pleasurable and pur poseful. Values are generally discovered, not designed.

You can’t touch, smell, taste, see or hear your core values. But you can feel them inside you leading and guiding you all the time.

Just as important as discovering our core values, understanding what it means is critical as we attach our own personal and unique meaning to a value. For example, many people have happiness as a value yet to one person, happiness is when they accomplish a task, yet to another person, happiness is when they are one with nature. Same value – radically different meaning.

Coaching and Limiting Beliefs in Guangzhou with Willbe Zeng

Coaching and Limited Beliefs in Guangzhou with Willbe Zeng

Coaching and Limited Beliefs in Guangzhou with Willbe Zeng

We all run into situations where we feel particularly ineffective, we feel frustrated with ourselves and others when we try to communicate, we feel misjudged by others, or any other number of negative emotional states! For some of us it is easy to get trapped by our beliefs as we seek out ways to confirm that we lack the resources needed to overcome our challenges and succeed. These are the times we could use a little extra help from coaching to find a resourceful state to overcome our difficulties.

The definition, process, and even the styles of coaching are very different across industries, professions and situations. Regardless of your situation you will find that applying NLP presuppositions and Belief-Value-Rules systems can be very helpful as a coach or as the one being coached.

Join us as we look into how we can all apply some of the principles that makes coaching a buzz word among management gurus in our daily lives. We will spend the our time together to exchange ideas about coaching, how we can apply NLP techniques to coaching, and how we can begin to identify the beliefs we impose on ourselves to limit our possibilities.

NLP Certified Practitioner Willbe Zeng will lead this month’s NLP session. Willbe has a diverse background including HR Manager, Leadership and Organizational Development Consultant, HR Consultant, and Coach. Willbe’s background is in psychology, her undergraduate work was completed in China and she holds her MSc in Psychology with a focus on behavior and mental development from the University of Bristol. She’s currently an independent consultant and uses coaching heavily in her daily work.

Guangzhou April Event: Exploring submodalities

Think back to a time when you last went out with your friends or family.

In your mind carefully recreate the memory.

Think back to who was with you, where were they standing or sitting? Where were you? What could you see around you? What could you hear in the background? Were other people speaking, what were they saying? Was it hot or cold? How did you feel in that moment? Would you like to recreate the feelings or emotional state from that particular moment? Would you like to make it stronger, weaker, or change it altogether?

Last month we began an exploration into the preferences we have for experiencing the world around us. This month the China NLP Society Guangzhou will look at how our sense affect our emotional states particularly the emotions connected to our memories. We will do this by taking our journey to explore the submodalities associated with our senses.

The evening includes an introduction to the sub-conscious mind. From their we will delve deeper into the sub-conscious mind and our memories. Using NLP techniques associated with our sensory preferences and their related elements we explore how we relate our senses and their submodalities to our emotional states.

We will have an opportunity for breakout sessions to begin a journey of exploring our own memories. Join us for an exciting evening of self-discovery and exploration.
