Guangzhou – 28 July – from 7pm

Take a moment to imagine what you want most to achieve in your life. Now consider what is stopping you from having that. Ask yourself, “What do I believe this is keeping me from having what I really want?”

The ideas that stop us from achieving or fulfilling the life that we want are called limiting beliefs. They may fill our lives and have many well thought out reasons to keep us from being the person that we want to become. But what if they didn’t have to?

This month, we will take some time to identify what are limiting beliefs and how they have affected us. We will go through fun and easy coaching activities to challenge those beliefs and create personal breakthroughs. These are techniques have been used to change lives and create a greater sense of personal freedom and empowerment by NLP practitioners, coaches, and motivational speakers around the world.

Topics include:

We have many kinds of teams including our work teams, our families, some of us have teams we play with for fun, or work with for charities and individual passions. It seems that being a part of a “team” and collaborating with other people is a part of all of our lives. Being able to understand each other and why we are similar and different can change and improve any team environment. When we can better understand each other we can begin to create strategies and habits that can improve our happiness when we work with others, our team’s effectiveness, and hopefully the quality of our life.

Meta Programs describe the some of the ways our unconscious mind defines our thinking and actions. We will look at 8 easy to understand meta-programs that are commonly encountered and easily observed in our daily lives.

We will talk about what methods we can use to affect our own meta-programs and how we can begin to improve our relationships with the people in our lives. This is an easy way to create an understanding about why some teams work and communicate better with the teams in our lives.

John Dorris, South China NLP’s organizer, has over seven years of experience working with teams across China and as a coach for high level leadership teams. In this session we will do a self-assessment and talk about how to better understand and work with the teams in our lives.

Learn to develop your abilities, skills, gifts and talents, to expand your personal success and experience of joy and fulfilment.

Awaken Your Genius – Tuesday, 14 July – from 7pm

Venue: Strange Brew, No. 4 Ming Yue Road (东山区明月一巷4号103), Guangzhou

RSVP appreciated to John Dorris on 13603099924 or via john_dorris@altec.com.cn or just RSVP on Facebook here.

Have you ever met someone outstanding? Someone that was not just competent, not just good at what they did, not even “excellent” – but someone who stood out as being exceptional?

Dan Smith did.
In 1994, he noticed that there is a difference between someone who works really hard to get mediocre results and someone who effortlessly achieves excellence. And, surrounded by some of the most brilliant minds, he started to ask, “What is the difference?”

Because it’s not just talent…

Sure our natural gifts and abilities help us. And for some people they help us a lot. But you and I know people who have every natural advantage but who either waste it or just can’t get it right.

And it’s not just hard work…

We are taught that if we work hard enough for long enough, we will get what we want. But it doesn’t always work like that. Some people feel a failure. Which makes perfect sense when you realize that there is a part of you that knows what you are capable of, and that you are not achieving, experiencing and enjoying the success and fulfilment that you want.

It’s not enough to “learn by doing”.

To be your best – you need to concentrate and practice getting better. And it can take time. A long time. And it’s working at getting better too – not just playing around! We need to work smarter – not just work harder. And most of us just don’t do it. Are you showing up at your best?

What if you could be free yourself to be your best?

Dan Smith holds five University degrees (including Psychology and Innovation Management), a fourth degree black belt in karate, and started his first company at the age of 20. Dan is a Certified NLP Trainer, Distinguished Toastmaster and has been living in Shanghai for the past two years.

One of his German participants recently described Dan as “a very experienced trainer who helped me with his knowledge and a huge capacity of understanding to find out where I am, who I am and where I want to go and then provided me with practical and powerful tools to accomplish whatever I wish for.”

Jeff will be discussing how to invest in yourself by discovering and understanding your core values. By discovering in your core values, you stay ahead of life’s uncertainties because you know what you want out of life, you know what motivates and pushes you forward, you know just why you’re alive!

Jeff Tan | Wednesday, 24 June, 7-9pm | @Paddy Field, Guangzhou

Core values are what’s important to you and drives your emotions, thoughts and actions every second of every day. It’s a set of personal rules, principles and fundamental truths that give us the fuel and motivation to lead a meaningful, pleasurable and pur poseful. Values are generally discovered, not designed.

You can’t touch, smell, taste, see or hear your core values. But you can feel them inside you leading and guiding you all the time.

Just as important as discovering our core values, understanding what it means is critical as we attach our own personal and unique meaning to a value. For example, many people have happiness as a value yet to one person, happiness is when they accomplish a task, yet to another person, happiness is when they are one with nature. Same value – radically different meaning.

We all run into situations where we feel particularly ineffective, we feel frustrated with ourselves and others when we try to communicate, we feel misjudged by others, or any other number of negative emotional states! For some of us it is easy to get trapped by our beliefs as we seek out ways to confirm that we lack the resources needed to overcome our challenges and succeed. These are the times we could use a little extra help from coaching to find a resourceful state to overcome our difficulties.

The definition, process, and even the styles of coaching are very different across industries, professions and situations. Regardless of your situation you will find that applying NLP presuppositions and Belief-Value-Rules systems can be very helpful as a coach or as the one being coached.

In your mind carefully recreate the memory.

Think back to who was with you, where were they standing or sitting? Where were you? What could you see around you? What could you hear in the background? Were other people speaking, what were they saying? Was it hot or cold? How did you feel in that moment? Would you like to recreate the feelings or emotional state from that particular moment? Would you like to make it stronger, weaker, or change it altogether?

Last month we began an exploration into the preferences we have for experiencing the world around us. This month the China NLP Society Guangzhou will look at how our sense affect our emotional states particularly the emotions connected to our memories. We will do this by taking our journey to explore the submodalities associated with our senses.

The evening includes an introduction to the sub-conscious mind. From their we will delve deeper into the sub-conscious mind and our memories. Using NLP techniques associated with our sensory preferences and their related elements we explore how we relate our senses and their submodalities to our emotional states.

We will have an opportunity for breakout sessions to begin a journey of exploring our own memories. Join us for an exciting evening of self-discovery and exploration.

Wednesday 8 April | 7:00-9:00pm

The Paddy Field, Hua Le Lu, Guangzhou

All of us at various points in our lives behave and respond masterfully. However, many of these unique and rewarding instances seen to be a function of our level of inspiration. mood, number of hours of sleep, etc. and are not available to us at will. NLP has developed many tools an skills to help capture and apply the processes behind these seemingly “magical” moments more consciously and systematically.

“Modeling” is the process of taking a complex event or series of events and breaking it into small enough chunks that it can be repeated in a manageable way. These pieces can be organized into step-by-step strategies or programs that anyone can learn. Through NLP, for example, the thinking processes of geniuses such as Albert Einstein. Walt Disney, Sigmund Freud, Leonardo da Vinci, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Aristotle and others can be generalized and applied to health. Educates and organizational dynamics.

Robert has studied the mental processes used by highly creative people from many different fields. On the basis of this research, he has put together explicit maps of these processes and their applications which allow people to more fully develop their senses and mental capacities, achieve and retrigger states of creative excellence, use and direct unconscious processes, overcome blocks and resistance to creativity, and deal effectively with criticism.

At his November workshop in Guangzhou and drawing from the books Tools for Dreamers and Strategies of Genius, Robert will demonstrate how NLP tools may be used to:

Model effective thinking processes

Internalize powerful creativity strategies

Establish beliefs that support creativity and innovation

Identify and reframe limiting beliefs related to creativity and innovation

Manage multi-level problem solving interventions

The structure the course will allow students not only to learn the powerful and creative thinking strategies used by some of history’s most important geniuses, but also to learn the tools and technologies by which such strategies can be identified, mapped and applied.

As an NLP developer, trainer and author, Robert has studied the mental processes used by highly creative people from many different fields. His past books, such as Belief: Pathways to Health and Well-Being, Tools for Dreamers, and Effective Presumption Skills, explore practical strategies and techniques for improving health, creativity and public speaking. His most recent works, Strategies of Genius. Vole I, Ⅱ&Ⅲ, apply the tools of NLP to model the thinking processes of important historical figures, including Aristotle, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes, Walt Disney, Mozart, Albert Einstein, Sigmund Freud, Leonardo da Vinci and Nikola Tesla. These thinking processes have been put into practical and effective “strategies of genius” that may be easily learner and applied to many different contexts. Robert views his work on Strategies of Genius as part of a larger mission to extend the horizon of human capabilities and achievement.
