For example, you might enjoy dining out. And eating at fine restaurants and enjoying delicious food can be a wonderful experience, can’t it!

What specifically do you enjoy about dining out? Is it just the food? Is being surrounded by friends? Is it the atmosphere? Or perhaps something else entirely?

The activities that give us pleasure even at a basic level (dining out, exercising, getting a massage) will often have levels of meaning beyond the surface.

You might call it “meta-pleasure”. And we might not be aware of these higher values most of the time. But what if you could free and empower yourself and discover some of those higher values – the things that drive you and the people you live with?

This session will be conducted by Gregory Ernoult. Gregory is an Executive in the hospitality industry with more than 15 years of experience in the luxury and up-scale hotel business across Asia. He is also an NLP Practitioner and member of the Singapore NLP association who uses NLP in his day to day job in a very practical way.

Gregory Ernoult on Meta-Pleasure

I am really excited about our forthcoming Master Practitioner training.

Jeff has given me the lead on this event that will be the first of it’s kind in Asia where you will be able to learn not just more advanced NLP techniques, but NLP Modeling. We’ll cover more advanced NLP techniques of course. Though more than just a collection of techniques, what most attracted me to NLP in the first place is how NLP provides a mechanism to get access to genius by absorbing their skills.

If you’ve looked at an infant – like our son Alexander – you’ll notice how they can have their eyes wide open as they look out at the world, absorbing whatever lies before them. They don’t ‘analyse’ or ‘think through’ what they are doing; instead they just absorb the behaviours of those around them. At the dawn of NLP, Grinder modeled Bandler to as they developed the Meta Model, and they did it together to develop the Milton Model and so much else. Learning to model deliberately helps us take NLP to an entirely new level.

We are looking to run this over four weekends, currently:

March 26-28,

April 24-25,

May 8-9, then

May 28-30.

So, all up, 8-10 days of training where you can learn to:

Identify, apply and use advanced language patterns to influence and persuade,

Connect with that state where you are at your very best whenever you want,

Learn to apply NLP Modeling (those skills that Bandler and Grinder applied when they founded NLP) to learn whatever you want to learn,

Get more clear about what is most important to you than ever before,

Build rapport and understanding from those around you,

Connect with the metaphors, questions and beliefs that drive your life,

More generally, you can walk away enjoying experiencing more excellence, more often.

By discovering in your core values, you stay ahead of life’s uncertainties because you know what you want out of life, you know what motivates and pushes you forward, you know just why you’re alive!

Jeff Tan | Wednesday, 24 June, 7-9pm | @Paddy Field, Guangzhou

Core values are what’s important to you and drives your emotions, thoughts and actions every second of every day. It’s a set of personal rules, principles and fundamental truths that give us the fuel and motivation to lead a meaningful, pleasurable and pur poseful. Values are generally discovered, not designed.

You can’t touch, smell, taste, see or hear your core values. But you can feel them inside you leading and guiding you all the time.

Just as important as discovering our core values, understanding what it means is critical as we attach our own personal and unique meaning to a value. For example, many people have happiness as a value yet to one person, happiness is when they accomplish a task, yet to another person, happiness is when they are one with nature. Same value – radically different meaning.

Australian NLP Trainer, Lynda Dyer, is in Shanghai again just this coming week. Lynda has kindly offered to take some time out from her busy schedule to share with us some of her thoughts on eliciting and changing values and beliefs.

Lynda is here as part of a Master Practitioner program where she will also be covering Values and profound change. Get a taste for the impact of values – and Lynda – through this evening workshop.

From 7:00pm, Tuesday 3 March

“How to Elicit and Change the Values and Beliefs in Your World that Drive You….and Make Changes for Maximum Future Success”

By Lynda Dyer

Why?

Values are what is important to us and how we judge when we, and others, have done something well or not.

What?

Values are related to our identity. They drive our behaviour and are the fundamental principles we live by. Values give us motivation and direction. Surrounding each value we have a series of beliefs. These are mostly stored in the subconscious so we may not be aware of, or understand, our driving forces. (ideas from Joseph O’Connor, Pip McKay, Tad James)

We acquire values, like beliefs from our experiences and from modelling family/ friends.

Values are usually unconscious

Values embody what is important to us and they are supported by beliefs

What are your values around Career, Relationships, Money, Family, Spiritual Life?

How? The Formation of Values

Sociologist Morris Massey researched that people go through a series of developmental periods in the creation of their major core values.

0-7 Imprint period

8-13 Modelling Period

14-21 Socialisation Period

21–35 Business (William James says that we take our values from above sources and put them into our business)

So HOW do we find out what our values are and what drives us?

What If You Could CHANGE Your Values?

What if you could elicit your values and find out what drives your behaviour in a chosen area of your life? What if you could then CHANGE the values you wish to change so your future is not held back by any limiting belief that may have been behind those initial values???

This Seminar will assist you to elicit your values and release limiting beliefs around unwanted values that do not serve you, then you will have the opportunity to change your values and what will be driving you in the chosen areas of your life.

During our last session, we explored values systems and personal values.

Values systems is a way of looking at collections of values and beliefs that together present a relatively stable world view. These relatively stable configurations – somewhat like electron shells – are recognisable and present characteristic strengths and weaknesses. While we could just scratch the surface, it was thought provoking and challenging!

We also explored personal values, and went through a detailed exercise on how to elicit our values. After one volunteer brought out a few pages worth of her own values, we examined how to put them into hierarchies and resolve potential conflicts working as partners.

It was a great afternoon – see you at the next one!

Speaking of which, our next session is 12 July with Andrew Shih and Ailing Wang.

We have a big week in values coming up with China NLP

Firstly, Lynda Dyer is back for a special breakfast event on Wednesday. Lynda will be speaking on “How to Elicit and Change the Values and Beliefs in Your World” in an event at Friends Kitchen from 7:30am. As it includes breakfast, there is a small charge – so please contact Hong Pan to register your place.

You can check out this values handout from Lynda for more information.

Then, Dan Smith (Chairman of The China NLP Society) will be delivering a session on Eliciting, Designing and Changing Values this Sunday afternoon.

We’ll be looking forward to a playful and interactive exploration of how we can understand and use our values to generate more congruent momentum towards what we really want to have and experience. See you there!

And, as usual, the session is free thanks to REV…
